The children in Year 6 write letters of application every September and are interviewed for different jobs in school.  The children have to write a persuasive letter to convince Miss Thatcher that they have the right knowledge and skills for the relevant position and then are interviewed by Mrs Greer and Miss Thatcher.

Play Leader

Purpose of Job

To be a friend and a supporter at playtimes and lunchtimes particularly to the younger children at Grazeley Primary School

 

General Duties

  1. Encouragechildren to join in a variety of playground games
  2. Ensure all children are happy and involved in play
  3. Utilise peer mediation skills to solve disputes and squabbles, working alongside the Lunchtime Controllers
  4. Help the Lunchtime Controller distribute and pack away play equipment

 

Junior Sports Coach

Purpose of Job

To be a role model and advocate of sports and fitness at Grazeley Primary School

General Duties

  1. Take part in training to learn to be a Junior Sports Coach
  2. Lead sports activities and games both in the playground and in lessons
  3. Encourage and inspire children to engage in an active lifestyle
  4. Be willing to represent the school in sports

 

ICT Leader

Purpose of Job

To be an expert and advocate for ICT at Grazeley Primary School

General Duties

  1. Be willing to learn new ICT skills
  2. Help children and staff to extend their ICT skills further
  3. Work with the ICT technician to keep the school ICT systems running smoothly
  4. Help to develop the school website and learning platform

 

Library Assistant

Purpose of Job

To assist with library management and be advocates for reading throughout the Grazeley Primary School

General Duties

  1. Checking books in and out of the library
  2. Tidying books and book shelves
  3. Creating book recommendations and encourage children to read
  4. Support the Literacy Subject Leader to develop the range of books available
